The Class B in fuel cell underwent extensive tests in very low-temperature. The launch of a model is scheduled for 2010.

Before throwing commercially, in series limited, a car running to the hydrogen, Mercedes tested a Class B in the North of Sweden. In fact, the engineers wanted to study the interaction between the various components by big cold. They also adapted the ESP to the engine with fuel cell because the car adopts another behavior.  The German car is, besides, capable of starting in 25 °C. The Class B F-Cell will still undergo the other rigorous tests during those two years. These tries have  the objective of Mercedes-Benz of throw during the summer, 2010 its first electric standard model requiring some hydrogen.  It will be about a limited production using a compact and powerful fuel cell of new generation. This one was presented in the concept F 600 Hygenius.

The electric engine of the Class B F-Cell develops a maximal power of 100 kW for a couple of 320 Nm. The system used by Mercedes also allows a more comfortable cold starting up thanks to the use of an electric turbo-compressor for the supply in air and the device of moistening and defogging. It does not more remain than to wait for 2010 and then also, the installation of pumps with hydrogen almost everywhere.

As such, Scandinavia, the United States, Canada and Japan fit out lanes of provisioning in hydrogen, baptized Hydrogen Highway. So, a corridor is developed to be able to go from Norway to Germany via Sweden and Denmark. The first station H2 of this Hydrogen Highway opened in 2006 to Stavanger in Norway.
