The Japanese builder adapted his Japanese Cube to make an electric motor car which he presented in concept in New York.
Denki, in Japanese, it means “electric”. 1.3 in four cylinders of the original Cubic model was replaced by an electric engine fed by flattened batteries lithium-ion installed under the floor and the seats. To welcome them, the cockpit of the Cube counts only two rows of seats, against three for the model with marketed oil, and the footing was stretched out by 23,9 cms. The concept can roll 160 km before having to reload for 8 hours. Its announced top speed is 120 kph.

Economic solution of development because it is a question of transplanting a mode of electric propulsion on an already existing model. To justify its qualifier of concept, the Cube benefits however from some aesthetic retouch to make show-bus. So, the cockpit was completely rebuilt. Outside, Denki Cube offers itself of new shields, of which a bumper before raising electric flashes of lighting and indicators in star. Rear-view mirrors and hub caps for the wheels of 16 thumbs are also unpublished.

This concept is also there to accustom the public American to the look of this city-dweller who, after Japan, will dash in the assault of the American market in 2009. At least, Nissan settled as objective of throw on the market, before 2015, an electric motor car. For 2010, the builder aspires to produce a thermal power-driven car showing an average consumption from 3 liters to 100 km.
